Meet Dr. Shanah S. Segal

Dr. Segal received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. She holds a Masters in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. She completed her Post-Doc at Rikers Island and her internship at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey. She has worked at Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center, Mount Sinai and Columbia University Irving Medical Center - The Lieber Recovery Clinic. Dr. Segal is a trained clinician of CBTp and Adjunct Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she taught Clinical Interviewing to Masters’ students.

Dr. Segal has a special interest in forensic psychology and works comfortably across multiple practice settings and has extensive experience working in the criminal justice system. Her training and experience in forensic psychology uniquely positions her to understand the stressful nature of law enforcement work and the complexities involved across the board.

For individual therapy services, Dr. Segal’s expertise include anxiety, anger management, psychosis, emotional dysregulation, and employment related mental health care. She guides technology and finance top-level professionals to optimize their performance and enhance their executive functioning skills.

She provides therapy to adults (ages 18 and up) who seek to better themselves and their relationships with others. Her sessions focus on bringing forth awareness and creating curiosity to explore patterns in feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
